Marian Pilgrimage: a journey of faith and encounter

Our 2026 Marian Pilgrimage, from September 5 to 16, was much more than a route through sacred places. It was a journey of faith, prayer and fraternity that left a deep mark on every pilgrim's heart.

The journey began in Lisbon and continued to Fatima, where we prayed at the Chapel of the Apparitions, walked the Via Crucis in Valinhos and learned about the homes of the shepherd children.

In Salamanca, we discovered Plaza Mayor, Casa de las Conchas, the University, the New and Old Cathedrals, the Convent of San Esteban and the historic Roman Bridge.

The pilgrimage continued to Covadonga, where we visited its emblematic sanctuary and celebrated the Eucharist surrounded by the natural beauty of Asturias.

We also visited Garabandal, a place of deep spirituality in the mountains of Cantabria. Sharing with Jacinta Gonzalez, one of the four visionaries of Garabandal, was one of the most special moments of our pilgrimage.

In Lourdes, we visited the Grotto of Massabielle and its basilicas. The traditional torch procession was one of the most moving moments, as we walked together in prayer and devotion to the Virgin Mary.

In Zaragoza, we visited the Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar and celebrated the Eucharist before the Virgin of the Pilar.

Our journey concluded in Madrid, where we celebrated the Eucharist at the Parish of Our Lady of Africa and thanked God for the journey, the shared experiences and every blessing received.

Each destination, celebration and encounter strengthened the bonds of the group and reminded us that pilgrimage means walking together toward God. We returned home with unforgettable memories, new friendships and renewed faith.
