Pilgrimage to Medjugorje, Rome and Assisi: A Journey of Faith, Peace and Renewal
Our pilgrimage from September 17 to 30 to Medjugorje, Rome and Assisi in 2026 was much more than a trip: it was an experience of prayer, encounter and fellowship that allowed us to draw closer to God and renew our faith. Each destination invited us to pause, open our hearts and discover how the spiritual journey also transforms our daily lives.
In Medjugorje, we experienced a special time of reflection and devotion to the Virgin Mary. Prayer helped us place our intentions in God’s hands, give thanks for the blessings we had received and find serenity amid our concerns. Sharing this journey as pilgrims reminded us of the value of supporting one another in faith and setting aside time to listen to God.
Our pilgrimage also took us to Rome, a city where the history of the Church invites us to recognize the faith passed down through so many generations. Being there allowed us to reflect on our Christian roots and feel part of a great community that, from different corners of the world, finds its hope in Christ.
Every moment shared in Rome was an opportunity to renew our commitment to living the Gospel with love and trust. Amid the city’s historical and spiritual richness, we remembered that faith is also expressed in simple gestures: a shared prayer, a word of encouragement and a willingness to walk alongside others.
In Assisi, we found an invitation to simplicity, peace and fellowship. The memory of Saint Francis and Saint Clare brought us closer to a way of living our faith marked by humility, service and love for God and our neighbors.
Our visit held especially profound meaning because 2026 is the year of the special Jubilee marking the 800th anniversary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi. This commemoration invited us to contemplate his legacy and ask ourselves how we can bring his example of dedication, reconciliation and care for creation into our own lives.
Assisi reminded us that peace begins in the heart and grows through our relationships with others. With that lesson in mind, we gave thanks for the journey and for the opportunity to share an experience that encouraged us to live our faith more deeply.
Medjugorje, Rome and Assisi left a special mark on our story as pilgrims. We returned home with cherished memories, new bonds of friendship and a desire to keep walking toward God, bringing our families and communities the prayer, hope and fellowship we shared during this pilgrimage.
